Filming in Croatia is a unit within a national film fund - Croatian Audiovisual Centre - that is administering Croatian incentive scheme. Incentive scheme is available to international and local filmmakers in the form of a rebate of 20% on qualifying Croatian spend, and qualifying production formats include feature films, documentaries, TV drama and animation.
Croatia has a long-standing tradition of film production and has served as location for such classics as Norman Jewison’s Fiddler on the Roof, Sam Peckinpah’s Cross of Iron, Volker Schlöndorff’s Tin Drum and Alan J. Pakula’s Sophie’s Choice, to modern day hits like Game of Thrones, Dig, The Renegades, Winnetou Trilogy etc.
Aside administering the incentive scheme, Filming in Croatia Department is a first point of contact that can provide filmmakers with a list of potential local partners, and promotes Croatia worldwide as a film location.
