Introduction Argentina's size means that it has millions of possibilities, not only amazing landscapes like the glacier Pertito Moreno located in Calafate or the Falls of Iguazú, but also different climates and architecture. It is a landscape of contrasts between the immense eastern plains and the imposing Andes mountain range. There are areas of forest, marshland, ancient civilisations and fortifications, indigenous mysteries and the sterile and stony plateaus of Patagonia. Argentina offers counter-season possibilities as compared to the Northern hemisphere, diversity in terms of locations and cast, creative talents, technologies and infrastructure. Besides producing nearly 60 feature films a year, over 600 commercials are produced by foreign production companies, plus a large number of foreign films through export of production services.Permits/visas Can be arranged by local agent. Buenos Aires, other central regions & the Pampas to the east have warm but rather wet summers & mild winters. The climate is sunnier & drier further west & to the south. This area includes the northern Andes which are very barren as little rain or snow falls even on higher slopes, if it does rain in tends to be during the summer months which are hot & very sunny. Southern Argentina or Patagonia is a mainly dry area with cooler temperatures, especially in the far south which has brisk summers & long cold winters with a good deal of snow & frost, although temperatures are not usually intolerably low ClothingLight clothes for central Argentina during summer & northern & western areas, although warmer wear is needed for trips up into the Andes.
