Estonian Film Institute appoints new head, Edith Sepp-Dallas.

The board of the Estonian Film Institute, the country’s main financing body for the film industry, has appointed Edith Sepp-Dallas as its new director.

Sepp-Dallas will be supported by Piret Tibbo-Hudgins who will become the chief producer responsible for reviewing financing applications. Tibbo-Hudgins is a producer with several features to her name, the most recent, Mushrooming by Toomas Hussar, reached Estonia’s box-office top 10 in 2012.

The two appointments are the final stages of the major overhaul of the body that was formerly known as the Estonian Film Foundation. The reorganised institute now also looks after film heritage and general industry marketing.

Sepp-Dallas replaces Marge Liiske, who is said to have played a key role in the Estonian film industry over the past few years.

The new director was educated at Lodz Film School in Poland and has worked extensively in the UK. Over the past few years she served as an advisor on cinema at the Estonian Ministry of Culture.
