An international co-production of Ivanhoe is in the pipeline, with shooting anticipated to take place later this year.

Set in England in the 12th century, the film is an adaptation of the epic historical novel by Sir Walter Scott, first published in 1820. The lead producer is Jens Meurer of Egoli Tossell in Germany, who will work alongside fellow producers James Jacks (who co-wrote the screenplay), Marisa Kagan and Stuart Pollok. Iain Softley directs from a screenplay by James Jacks and John Brownlow.

Egoli Tossell informs us that filming locations will include Spain and Germany, and possibly Belgium and the UK, depending on finance.

Other production companies involved in the movie are Saltire Entertainment in LA and Madrid-based Morena Films.
