Jude Law takes on risky underwater mission

Jude Law is to star in Black Sea, to film in the UK later this summer.

The underwater thriller is about an out-of-work submarine captain (played by Law) who, desperate to find work, takes on a dangerous job from a mysterious employee. But he soon realises that his crew could be as dangerous as his mission– finding a stolen sub at the bottom of the Black Sea.

The director is Kevin Macdonald, who also produces alongside Charles Steel - the pair have collaborated before on The Last King of Scotland and How I Live Now. The screenplay is by Dennis Kelly, who wrote the conspiracy thriller drama series Utopia, shown on Channel 4 in the UK.

Filming on Black Sea commences at Pinewood Studios at the end of July.
