Saint Laurent, a big screen biopic of the iconic French designer, is set to shoot from late September in and around Paris, with Gaspard Ulliel in the title role.
Ullliel (Hannibal Rising etc) will co-star with Jeremie Renier who plays the designer’s former partner and co-founder of the couture house, Pierre Berge. The film will be directed by Bertrand Bonello, who wrote the screenplay with Thomas Bidegain.
KFTV spoke to Mandarin Cinema – producing alongside Luc Besson’s EuropaCorp – who confirmed the two actors are on board but said other press reports suggesting that Lea Seydoux will play Loulou de la Falaise are unconfirmed.
Saint Laurent is one of two current features about the charismatic Frenchman: Paris-based company SND are also currently in production on their own big screen interpretation of his fascinating life.
