Hungarian film tax incentive increases
Hungary’s tax incentive for domestic and international filmmakers has been extended for a further six years by the European Commission. The deal, which will now last until December 2019, gives companies making films and TV programmes in the country a 20% rebate on production costs.
Rebates are paid by two methods: through the corporate tax system and via deposit account from Hungary's National Film Fund (the latter is available more quickly).
The maximum amount of rebate has also been doubled for the third year running, making it HUF18.5bn (EUR63m).
Details of tax incentives for other countries can be found in our country and production guide section.
