Chris Hemsworth prepares for The Avengers: Age of Ultron
Chris Hemsworth is one of the hottest names in cinema at the moment, as he keeps box office tills ringing with his performance in Thor: The Dark World.
One of the most in-demand actors around, he has enough lined up in his diary to keep him busy for quite some time.
We took a peek at his schedule to see what life has in store for the Australian-born thespian.
Hemsworth has been in the UK recently, reunited with Rush director Ron Howard on In the Heart of the Sea, based at Warner Bros. Leavesden. The unit recently decamped to film around La Gomera in the Canary Islands.
The watery tale recounts real events which took place in the southern Pacific Ocean in 1820, when American whaling ship the Essex was hunted, stalked and eventually destroyed by a whale. The story is based on the book by Nathaniel Philbrick and said to be the inspiration for Herman Melville’s literary classic Moby Dick.
Hemsworth stars in this maritime thriller with a starry cast including Ben Walker, Cillian Murphy, Ben Whishaw, Osy Ikhile and Brendan Gleeson.
Spring 2014 will see the Red Dawn actor back in the UK, as he reprises his role of Thor in Avengers: Age of Ultron. The latest in the behemoth Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise will be based primarily at Shepperton Studios.
Other talent on board the superhero jamboree includes Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr, Chris Evans, Cobie Smulders, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Mark Ruffalo and James Spader.
Viola Davis co-stars in the film, whose plot, although somewhat under wraps, reportedly centres on the collaboration between American and Chinese forces against a very high powered hacker.
The Star Trek actor has long been associated with a black ops feature called Shadow Runner, about a group of elite commandos on a dangerous mission.
And he would presumably be welcomed back with open arms onto the sequel of Snow White and the Hunstman, which has been in the pipeline at Columbia for a while. The original, co-starring Kristen Stewart, was filmed at Pinewood Studios in the UK.
