A short film starring Jude Law and Italian actor Giancarlo Giannini (Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale) will be released to promote whisky brand Johnnie Walker Blue Label.

The film, called The Gentleman’s Wager, was filmed in the British Virgin Islands and London and is directed by Jake Scott for RSA Films.

The ad has a highly cinematic flavour – Law is dressed immaculately in the uniform of wealthy international playboys everywhere, seemingly wanting for nothing.

As he relaxes languidly on a beautiful boat with his friend, drifting through turquoise seas drinking Johnnie Walker, it transpires that what he is perhaps lacking in his life is a challenge, as he proposes to win the boat from his pal, with a dance as the wager.

The short film will be screened at the Venice Film Festival and shown globally from 30 July - to whet your appetite you can watch the teaser below.
