The New Mexico Film Office has announced that part of the production on forthcoming event series Dig will take place in Albuquerque.

Filming on first unit interiors on the Universal Cable Productions drama has been relocated from Jerusalem – where the pilot was made – due to current events in the region. The locations team is still seeking other suitable international sites for production.

In the show, Jason Isaacs stars as FBI agent Peter Connelly who, while stationed in Jerusalem, uncovers a 2000 year-old conspiracy while investigating the murder of an archaeologist. Anne Heche co-stars as the head of the FBI office in the ancient city.

The series is created and executive produced by Gideon Raff (Homeland) and Tom Kring (Heroes) and was developed by Keshet in association with Gail Berman for Tecumseh Productions and Gene Stein.

Director of the City's Economic Development Department Gary Oppedahl said of the location announcement: "Albuquerque welcomes USA Network's upcoming event series Dig to our city. We're thrilled to be part of the next setting that continues telling the story of this high action adventure drama."
