Vancouver next stop for Jamie Dornan
With excitement building over the forthcoming Fifty Shades of Grey, the film’s leading man, Jamie Dornan, is heading to Canada for his next project.
Shooting begins in October in Vancouver on The 9th Life of Louis Drax, a UK-Canadian co-production based on the novel by Liz Jensen and directed buy Alexandre Aja. The psychological thriller centres on a doctor who becomes involved in strange events when a young boy claims to have had a near-death experience.
The late director Anthony Minghella had originally earmarked this as a future project, so it is fitting that the screenplay has been written by his son Max, who will also produce along with Tim Bricknell, Shawn Williamson and Aja. The project is being overseen by the giant Miramax with several production companies involved.
Dornan is also lined up to star in Irish feature The Siege of Jadotville, set in the Congo during the early 1960s. Dates and locations have yet to be confirmed on the feature, which comes from Parallel Films and the Irish Film Board.
