Mississippi is fast becoming a go-to place for filmmakers, as more mainstream productions are setting up to shoot in the state.

New movies Life at These Speeds, which stars Billy Crudup of Watchmen and Mission Impossible 3 fame, and Same Kind Of Different As Me featuring renowned actors Renee Zellweger, Djimon Hounsou and Greg Kinnear, are set to spend the next month filming in and around the Jackson area.

With a competitive incentive system for all types of productions from movies to commercials, Mississippi has been home to several famous productions including: Oh Brother, Where Art Thou; The Help; Walk The Line; A Time To Kill and Act Of Valor.

Through the tax rebate programme, a production is eligible for a 25% rebate of their base investment in Mississippi. This investment is based on production expenditures paid to Mississippi companies in the business of providing a particular service or equipment.
