Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro. After so many years film fans got their wish, the trio have finally worked together…in a series of commercials.

After starring in an array of Scorsese films individually, the two A-listers came together to feature in two trailers. The commercials, named The Audition, advertise Studio City in Manila which is set to launch in mid-2015.

In the first trailer, featuring Scorsese and the two actors, the pair appear to be competing for the same part.

The second commercial is more akin to a movie trailer with viewers being treated to a momentary glimpse of Brad Pitt on a banner advert in the background. The A-lister is reportedly set to join the stars in their final short film which will premiere at the launch of Studio City in mid-2015.

The two commercials and the short film are produced by highly regarded Hollywood producer, RatPac Entertainment's Brett Ratner, the director of movie blockbusters Red Dragon, X-Men: The Last Stand and the Rush Hour film franchise.

Ratner said: "The short film is a historic event because it is the first film ever to star such legendary actors as Robert De Niro, Leonardo Dicaprio and Brad Pitt in one film together. Lawrence Ho and James Packer served as executive producers and convinced iconic filmmaker Martin Scorsese to direct the film.”

The Wolf of Wall Street director has collaborated with De Niro on eight films and with DiCaprio on five films and is working with Pitt for the first time. The ongoing joke in the commercials surrounds the fact that the trio have never worked together on a feature film. Could that soon change…?
