Netflix’s upcoming Adam Sandler movie The Ridiculous Six is to film in New Mexico, its film office has confirmed.

The Ridiculous Six, a new feature written and produced by Adam Sandler, will begin principal photography in February in Santa Fe and the surrounding areas for a few months until the beginning of May.

As with his previous films Pixels, Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2, Sandler will also take the lead in the comedy western ensemble. Frank Coraci (The Wedding Singer) will be helping the production and Tim Herlihy, who previously wrote Grown Ups 2 with Sandler, will co-write.

Sharing the producer's chair is Allen Covert, and Barry Bernardi and Heather Parry will executive produce.

Also starring are Terry Crews (Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Expendables 3), Jorge Garcia (Hawaii Five-0, The Wedding Ringer), Taylor Lautner (Grown Ups 2, The Twilight Series), Rob Schneider (Real Rob, Grown Ups), Luke Wilson (The Skeleton Twins, Enlightened) and Nick Nolte (Parker, Warrior, Tropic Thunder).

The production will employ at least 200 New Mexico crew members and 250 New Mexico actors and local background talent.

New Mexico Film Office director Nick Maniatis said: “We are pleased to have the Happy Madison team back in New Mexico and look forward to a long and fruitful relationship."
