Fast & Furious 8 to film in New York
After the release of various pictures of the Fast & Furious 8 logo with the Big Apple in the background and interviews with the cast on the topic, it has been widely acknowledged that the next film in the high-octane franchise will film in New York.
The franchise follows Dominic Toretto, played by Vin Diesel, and his crew as they take part in various missions and sometimes street races around the world. The prequel to the film, Fast and Furious 7, filmed in several exotic locations around the world including Abu Dhabi, Los Angeles and Dominican Republic.
Another major production, the upcoming sequel to 2014's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, also confirmed it would be shooting in New York earlier this year, and with the New York State Film Production Tax Credit Program, which began two years ago, and the slew of top quality studio space in the region, more productions have decided to use the state for production.
Fast & Furious 8 is scheduled to begin production in summer 2016 with the movie set to be released the following year.
