Keanu Reeves filming John Wick 2 in New York
Keanu Reeves has started filming the sequel to action movie John Wick in Brooklyn, New York.
The first feature was also shot in New York and follows a legendary assassin who comes out of retirement to wreak vengeance on the gang that killed his dog. In total the film made a comparatively low $80m, but was produced for just $20m and quickly became a fan favourite.
New York City is one of the top filming locations in the US, partly because of a generous 30% filming incentive.
More than 250 features have been shot in the Big Apple so far this year and a recent report found production in the city has risen by 20% over the past four years.
One of the biggest films to have shot in New York in recent weeks has been biopic Sully. The production is directed by Clint Eastwood and stars Tom Hanks as airline pilot Chesley ‘Sully’ Sullenberger, who famously landed a plane safely in the Hudson River in 2009 after a bird strike.
