Martin Luther biography films in Poland
A biography of the 16th century theology professor Martin Luther is filming scenes in southern Poland.
Martin Luther notoriously challenged the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church in the early 1500s and became a key figure in the Protestant Reformation.
The British-US co-production is officially untitled and is coming to the end of a shoot in Malopolska in the south of the country. No Sugar Films has been servicing the movie.
“I was attracted to Poland by the stunning locations, but I got so much more: fabulous, top quality crews, first-class equipment and costume rentals, and all priced to match my budget,” said producer Hannah Holloway. “Our local production company was excellent - we have felt very well looked-after at every level.”
The head of the Polish Film Institute, Magdalena Sroka, recently called for a national filming incentive, which could help boost Poland’s global production appeal.
Poland recently hosted new feature Music, War and Love, and the government has signed a co-production agreement with New Zealand.
