A new live-action version of Dumbo, directed by Tim Burton, is lining up a UK shoot with filming set to get underway next year.

The latest in the studio’s canon of live reboots of animated classics is now in pre-production in the UK, alongside other major Disney re-iterations including Mary Poppins Returns and The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

Burton has a long history of filming in the UK: his latest release, Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children utilised Cornwall and Blackpool as well as Florida and Belgium.

With the Star Wars franchise also firmly embedded in the UK, Disney is a high-profile, big-spending contributor to the record inward investment currently going into film and TV production in the UK.

The attractive tax credits, world-class studio facilities and pool of highly experienced crew and technicians continue to lure foreign filmmakers, with Hollywood leading the way. Other US projects lined up for a UK shoot include Tomb Raider, M:I 6 – Mission Impossible, Holmes and Watson and Murder on the Orient Express.
