New X-Files event series filming in Vancouver
A new series of supernatural drama The X-Files is scheduled to film in Vancouver through to December this year.
The show was rebooted 18 months ago – after an absence of nearly 15 years – to follow the continuing paranormal investigations of FBI agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully.
The X-Files was created by Chris Carter and stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson.
“Iconic characters, rich storytelling, bold creators — these are the hallmarks of great TV shows,” said David Madden, president of Fox Broadcasting, when the new commission was first announced in the spring.
“And they are some of the reasons why The X-Files has had such a profound impact on millions of fans worldwide. Chris’ creativity, along with the brilliant work of David and Gillian, continue to propel this pop culture phenomenon, and we can’t wait to see what fresh mysteries Mulder and Scully uncover in this next chapter of The X-Files.”
Vancouver is a North American film and TV production hub, currently hosting nearly 30 TV series.
Superhero TV series Arrow is one of them – now filming its sixth series – and has spent CA$360m on production spending in British Columbia over the course of five years.
