Computer hacker drama Mr Robot is filming scenes in New Mexico for its third season.
American drama series often use New Mexico as a stand-in for desert locations around the world as the south-west state offers an experienced crew base and generous filming incentive support.
Mr Robot is usually set and filmed in New York. The show follows Rami Malek's cybersecurity engineer who is recruited by Christian Slater's mysterious anarchist to help use technology to wipe out financial debt records.
“Once again New Mexico's incredible landscapes, unmatched workforce and our powerful incentives are bringing good jobs to New Mexico,” said Nick Maniatis, director of the New Mexico Film Office.
“This is another great TV show that will have a tremendous economic impact as we continue to grow and diversify our economy.”
Production in New Mexico – for both films and TV shows – increased by 30% and delivered just over $500m for the state in the 2016-17 financial year, according to recent official figures.
