Third series of Fortitude films next year

Fortitude Series 3 is in now development with filming due to begin in Q1 of next year.

Simon Donald writes the icy drama which is set in the fictional Arctic Norwegian town of Fortitude. It comes from London-based Fifty Fathoms, a production company under the umbrella of Endemol Shine.

The show screens on Amazon and Sky Atlantic and is filmed in London and Iceland.

Iceland is considered a film-friendly destination with special legislation offering up to 25% of production costs incurred during filming in the country.

Iceland’s extraordinary physical geography and landscapes have been showcased by the high-profile HBO hit drama Game of Thrones, which has used locations in the country for all seven series so far.

Glaciers and beaches can be found just a few miles apart, and there are plenty of dramatic, other-worldly backdrops which lend themselves to sci-fi or fantasy productions.
