Better Call Saul returns to film in New Mexico
Acclaimed drama Better Call Saul, a prequel spinoff from Breaking Bad, will film a fourth series on location in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“We're proud to welcome this incredible production team back for a fourth season of Better Call Saul,” said Nick Maniatis, director of the New Mexico Film Office, in a release.
“Over the last three seasons, Sony has proven to be an excellent partner with the state of New Mexico as we continue growing and diversifying our economy and we look forward to the continued success of our partnership.”
Better Call Saul tells the story of lawyer Jimmy McGill and how he gradually assumes his corrupt Saul Goodman persona.
New Mexico got a major profile boost hosting Breaking Bad and the show’s success resulted in authorities increasing the state’s TV incentive.
Production spending in the south-west US state rose by 30% in the 2016-17 financial year, driven by generous filming incentive support, a skilled crew base and flexible locations.
