The country hosted nearly 570 co-production features over the nine-year period, accounting for 15% of the overall market, according to a new report from the European Audiovisual Observatory.

Spain and Germany were the next most prolific. Together, co-production features from the UK, France, Germany and Italy comprised just over half of the market.

The US was the most prominent non-European partner for European majority co-productions.

Overall production volume in Europe rose by 47% between 2007 and 2016.

Between 2015 and 2016, Spain, France and the UK produced the most numbers of features, with Italy and Germany close behind.
