The Netherlands has announced support for nine new co-productions in the year’s second round of filming incentive investments.

Nearly €5m in support is being allocated through the Netherlands Film Production Incentive Scheme to 12 live-action features and an animated film.

The animated movie is a co-production with Peru called Ainbo that is getting the largest incentive support payment at just over a million euros.

Production on the 13 separate projects will deliver nearly €20m to the Netherlands’ economy, according to the country’s film commission.

The Dutch filming incentive programme offers a cash rebate of up to 35% for films and as much as 30% for TV shoots.

Productions qualifying for the filming incentive have spent around €290m in the Netherlands since the programme’s launch in 2014. High-profile beneficiaries have included Christopher Nolan’s war movie Dunkirk, which used a Dutch lake as a stand-in for the English Channel.
