Founded in Belgium in 1920 by Adrien De Backer, ADB was a family business until it was acquired by the SIEMENS Group in 1987.
By then, ADB had already pioneered key technologies used in stage & studio lighting, like memory control systems, digital dimmers, condenser optics for theatre spotlights… It was also strongly established as a leading manufacturer with facilities in Belgium and France, and a sales subsidiary in Germany.
