The Cape Film Commission is funded by the City of Cape Town and the Provincial Government of the Western Cape to promote Cape Town and the Western Cape as a film making destination. The region offers world class studio facilities through the Cape Town Film Studios together with leading cast, crew and production companies.
Cape Town also boasts Africa’s largest 3D animation studios and Africa’s largest sound studios for “Sound for Film”.
The Cape Film Commission offers various services including competitive rates for Public Liability insurance required for permit applications. We also provide support to incoming productions with access to various locations, production and equipment companies. Our other Member services include discounts on the national carrier SAA and access to the relevant government departments.
