Creative Scotland is the national leader for Scotland’s arts, screen and creative industries. The national locations service for Scotland, Scottish Screen Locations, is now based within Creative Scotland, and provides a FREE service to facilitate production in Scotland.
Scotland is best known for its wild and beautiful landscapes, but it can also provide a huge range of period locations, from castles of every shape and size to cutting-edge contemporary urban architecture. It has the longest daylight hours in the UK, with up to 18 hours of daylight at midsummer, ensuring longer shooting days. Scotland also boasts skilled professional crews, a wide selection of facilities and equipment, and a growing number of post-production companies. There is a network of film commissions and film liaison personnel across the country, on hand to assist locally with any production in their region. For more information, please contact the Locations team at Creative Scotland.
Details of Creative Scotland’s investment programmes for film production and broadcast material are available on the website, along with details of new initiatives and support for production companies.
