Australia’s Network Ten has commissioned UK sports gameshow show A League Of Their Own, with comedian Tommy Little fronting the programme. Filming in front of a live audience in Sydney later this year and airing on TEN, the series will also feature tennis champ Pat Cash and Olympic swimmer Eamon Sullivan as team captains.

The format consists of two teams competing by answering sport-related questions, ending with a physical (and often amusing) end game. Currently in production on series seven in the UK, the Sky1 show is a ratings winner, and regularly attracts famous sport-loving guests.

Freehand Productions will produce the series, with the show's creator, Arrow Media's CPL Productions, acting as consultant.

Beverley McGarvey, chief programme officer for Network Ten, said: “We are very excited about bringing this brand new show to TEN later this year. A League Of Their Own offers wonderful talent and a wonderful mix of sport, comedy and stunts. It is a big entertainment show for the whole family, with big stars, big stunts, a big set and big laughs. A League Of Their Own is a smash in the UK and we are confident Australian families will embrace our version.”
