Red Border Films

Iconic American weekly news magazine Time is launching Red Border Films, a new documentary filmmaking unit and interactive digital platform.

Named after the publication’s distinctive coloured border, the new unit will be hosted at Time.com, and aims to “push the frontiers of digital storytelling.” It will feature films by Time journalists and photojournalists, filmmakers and other contributors and will enable users to source in-depth information surrounding both the filmmakers and the subject matter from facilities such as the photo gallery.

Red Border Films launches this Thursday (15 August) with ‘One Dream’, a project examining Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech and the march on Washington in 1963, featuring original video footage and interviews.

Time magazine was founded in New York in 1923 and is read by 25 million people – the largest circulation for a weekly news magazine. It has spawned several other versions around the world, including Time Europe and Time Asia.
