Filming has begun in New Orleans on American Ultra, an action comedy starring Jesse Eisenberg, Kristen Stewart, Sharon Stone and Bill Pullman.
From Lionsgate and writer Max Landis (son of John), the film centres on a stoner (Eisenberg) and his girlfriend (Stewart) whose lives are turned upside down when his past comes back to haunt him and the government tries to end his life.

Shooting started on Monday (14 April) with Project X director Nima Nourizadeh at the helm – filming is expected to run through until early June with a release date yet to be set.
Producer Anthony Bregman said: "Simply put, American Ultra will be the most fun you can possibly have in a movie theater without the use of drugs, fireworks or canola oil”. David Alpert and Britton Rizzio also produce. PalmStar, Likely Story and Circle of Confusion are the production companies behind the film.
