Stephen Hopkins is in the director’s chair for this one; the film is written by Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel. Focus Features will distribute.

American track and field athlete Owens dominated the 1936 Olympics by winning four gold medals at Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. His glory was highlighted by Nazi propaganda which viewed ethnic Africans as inferior, while Adolf Hitler hoped it would be German athletes that would dominate the games. Hitler stormed out of the stadium after Owens’ win, and ultimately, Owens was commended for his perseverance, courage and grace throughout the sporting event.
