A Netflix film telling the story of Pope Benedict’s papacy and subsequent historic resignation will shoot in Argentina, the home of his successor Francis, the current Pope.

Entitled simply The Pope, the film will star Anthony Hopkins and Jonathan Pryce, Deadline reports.

The story will focus partly on Francis’ initial reluctance to assume the papacy when Pope Benedict unexpectedly resigned after eight years in 2013. His decision marked the first Papal resignation since the 15th century.

Argentina is not yet established as an international production hub, partly because it lacks formal incentive support. However, Buenos Aires has been popular for years as a filming location for commercials, with a cityscape that can easily double for parts of Europe.

The country may get a profile boost hosting scenes for The Pope. Argentina is also scheduled to be used as a location for Chris Weitz’s upcoming movie Operation Finale. The film is based on the true story of the capture of Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann, who fled to Argentina after the war but was eventually tracked down by Israeli intelligence officers in 1960.
