The drama follows a young female heroine with supernatural powers who tracks the people that killed her family to a remote and lawless fortress.

“The Outpost is an exciting fantasy with a strong female lead that will capture the imagination of fans of both Game of Thrones and Wonder Woman,” said producer Dean Devlin in comments to Deadline when the series was announced.
Utah is steadily building its production profile. The western state has hosted scenes for the dystopian drama Westworld, while filmmaker Taylor Sheridan shot locally for his wilderness thriller Wind River and returned for the modern western series Yellowstone.
The state offers a filming incentive of up to 25%, but faces competition from neighbouring New Mexico.
See KFTV's production guide for more on filming in Utah.
