Disney + TV series, Witch Mountain, is set to shoot its pilot episode in Toronto, Canada from November to December 2022.

The director and cast are yet to be announced, but the series will be co-written by Terry Matalas and Travis Fickett, the duo behind the hit Syfy series, 12 Monkeys. Producers are John Davis and John Fox, who previously teamed on Dolemite Is My Name and Game Night. Davis will be producing through his company, Davis Entertainment.

Filming will take place across Toronto from 18 November to 14 December, with post-production work then due to take place in Los Angeles.

There have been five Witch Mountain films already, including the most recent reboot in 2009, Race to Witch Mountain, directed by Andy Fickman and starring Dwayne Johnson, which proved to be a box office hit grossing $106m from a budget of $50m.

The plot for the TV series adaptation is being kept under wraps, but Disney’s franchise is based on the 1968 science fiction novel Escape to Witch Mountain, written by Alexander Key about two teenage orphans, Tony and Tia, who have paranormal abilities.
