Cameroon is located in the Gulf of Guinea, between west and central Africa. The north is dry, with vast savannas around the shores of Lake Chad, whereas the south is home to dense tropical rainforests. Cameroon has a rich cultural diversity, containing more than 200 ethnic groups and a high biodiversity, particularly in terms of flora. Mount Cameroon is also the highest mountain in Africa, as well as the continent’s only active volcano.
