Overview
British Columbia, home to the city of Vancouver, is one of North America's major production centres. It offers spectacular and diverse locations, world-class technical capabilities, excellent crews and equipment suppliers, studio and post-production facilities, a pool of high-calibre performers and numerous financial mechanics to support production. The first point of contact for all issues connected to shooting in BC is Creative BC, the overarching body responsible for all media activities.

Recent Productions
British Columbia has been home to hundreds of major feature films and television projects, as well as new media and animation productions. Vancouver is a world leader in visual special effects. Film productions have included Tomorrowland, Godzilla, Seventh Son, Elysium, Superman: Man of Steel, Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, 2012, The Grey, Twilight Saga: New Moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn, and Tron: Legacy. Recent TV series credits include Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, Continuum, Motive, Bates Motel, Arrow, Falling Skies, The Killing, The Tomorrow People and Wayward Pines.

Studios
World-class options are available in Vancouver, including Mammoth Film Studios and Vancouver Film Studios.
Locations
British Columbia offers a vast choice of modern cities, towns, coastline, mountains, forests and arid grassland. Filming in many of these locations requires permission from a range of government organisations at the federal, provincial or municipal levels. Local or municipal government film offices are a key gateway for permits.
