Nevada agrees tax incentive for filmmakers
Nevada’s lawmakers have approved a tax credit, taking effect from 1 January 2014, which will be offered to productions that film at least 60% of their movie in the state.

Nevada’s lawmakers have approved a tax credit, taking effect from 1 January 2014, which will be offered to productions that film at least 60% of their movie in the state and spend $500,000 to $40m on their film.
Governor Brian Sandoval has signed the new law, which is meant to ensure more (and new) business - from smaller, independent films, to Hollywood blockbusters - will come to the state.
Though the famous Las Vegas strip and its landmark hotels have always remained popular locations among filmmakers, some films, such as Andrew Dominik’s Killing Them Softly (2012), were filmed in New Orleans because of the more favourable tax incentives.
The currently agreed new programme will be on a four year-long test basis.
