Supernatural horror classic Rosemary’s Baby is to be adapted for TV, this time relocating the action from New York to Paris.

Adapted from the novel by Ira Levin, the original 1968 film was directed by Roman Polanski and starred Mia Farrow as the young pregnant housewife whose life is taken over by terrifying and inexplicable events.

NBC has announced the new four-hour TV version, which is to be produced by Lionsgate. Scott Abbott is the writer, with Joshua Maurer, David Stern, Perri Kipperman and Alix Witlin executive producing.

The Rosemary’s Baby remake is one of several new projects announced by the network giant. Diane Lane will play former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in Hillary, a four-hour miniseries based on Clinton’s life from 1998 onwards. Courtney Hunt is the writer/director.

Also in the pipeline is Stephen King’s Tommyknockers, based on the horror writer’s 1987 novel about a small town in Maine whose residents have to confront an alien spaceship landing nearby. Yves Simoneau directs.
