Joel Edgerton joins Christian Bale on biblical epic
An A-list cast is gathering for biblical epic Exodus, with Australian actor Joel Edgerton the latest name reported to be coming on board. It is suggested that the Great Gatsby actor would play Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II in the Old Testament feature.
Christian Bale is in place to play Moses in the 20th Century Fox feature, which will be directed by Ridley Scott from a (revised) screenplay by Steve Zaillian.
Shooting will begin in early autumn with a production office based at Pinewood Studios in the UK. We spoke to the location manager on the film, who confirmed that the other main filming locations will be Spain and the Canary island of Fuerteventura - not Morocco as other reports have suggested.
