Stallone to return as Rambo in TV remake?

ramboProducers are in talks with Sylvester Stallone about reprising his role as the troubled Vietnam War veteran in a Rambo TV series. Expendables producer Avi Lerner - who also produced the 2008 Rambo sequel - and Entertainment One (eOne) are behind the development of the new adaption.

Reports also suggest that the 67-year-old Hollywood action star will also be involved at a creative level on the project. Lerner’s company Nu Image will develop and produce the series.

In a statement, eOne Television CEO John Morayniss said: “The ability to fuse the big screen and the small screen through Avi’s feature film expertise, and eOne’s domestic production capabilities and international distribution infrastructure, makes for a highly complementary partnership,"

Stallone has not long started filming on The Expendables 3 in Bulgaria, with the rumour mill on overdrive about which other action-heavyweights will make an appearance. What is known is that Bruce Willis won’t be joining the cast as originally reported, with Stallone making a scathing attack on the actor via Twitter.

In other eOne news, Noah Segal, co-president of the Canadian distribution giant is to leave the company at the end of this month to set up his own production company, Toy Boy Pictures.
