Breaking Bad actor Aaron Paul has boarded the New York-set feature Fathers and Daughters.
Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried are already attached to the drama, which will be directed by Italian director Gabriele Muccino (Playing for Keeps, The Pursuit of Happiness).
With an original screenplay by Brad Desch, the feature comes from Voltage Productions, Busted Shark Productions and Crowe’s own shingle, Fear of God Films. The producers are Craig J. Flores, Nicolas Chartier and Sherryl Clark.
The film centres on a widowed writer (Crowe) as he battles to cope with mental illness and bringing up his young daughter. The feature covers a 25 year timespan, revisiting the daughter as a young woman (Seyfried) living in New York as she copes with the repercussions of her difficult childhood.
Paul is currently in the UK and Spain filming his role of Joshua in Sir Ridley Scott’s biblical epic, Exodus, with Christian Bale, Joel Edgerton and Sigourney Weaver.
He was also in the UK last year to film A Long Way Down at Ealing Studios, a big screen adaptation of the novel by Nick Hornby with Pierce Brosnan, Imogen Poots and Toni Collette.
