A starry cast lead by Bruce Willis is gathering in Mobile, Alabama, ready for filming to begin in early December on action thriller The Prince.

The film sees Willis as Omar, a criminal with a grudge who is waiting for the return of a retired Vegas mob enforcer played by Jason Patric. Also reportedly on board the project are Curtis Jackson (50 Cent) and John Cusack. Brian A. Miller directs from a screenplay by Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore.

The city of Mobile, known as the Port City - the only saltwater port in Alabama - is actually standing in for New Orleans (Louisiana) in the feature, which comes from LA-based Emmett Furla Films.

Recently announced changes to the film tax credit system in Alabama will see the annual state cap rise from $15m to $20m, which should ensure it continues to lure filmmakers and big stars. It already has an attractive incentive package on offer: projects spending between $500,000 and $20m are eligible for a 25% rebate on state-certified expenditure and 35% on payroll for local crew.
