Endemol India, in partnership with FOX Star studios, is to remake the Malayalam blockbuster Traffic. The production house already has several hit TV credits under its belt, including Bigg Boss (the Indian Big Brother,) but this will be its first foray into the Hindi film industry under newly created film arm Eyedentity Motion Pictures.
“At Endemol, we have always believed that if the content is strong, it will always find its audience and Traffic meets that criteria in every respect,” said Deepak Dhar, CEO Endemol India “As part of our move into a new phase of significant growth, we look forward to producing some great content for the silver screen.”

The cast includes Manoj Bajpai and Jimmy Shergill in the lead roles alongside Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Divya Dutta, Kitu Gidwani and Sachin Khedekar, and the debut of Amol Parasher and Vishal Singh in critical roles.
The movie will be directed by national award winning filmmaker Rajesh Pillai, who directed the original Malayalam production.
Shooting took place in August along the Mumbai-Pune highway and in Hyderabad and the film is slated for release on 7 March 2014.
