Giuseppe Tornatore filming in UK and Italy this summer
The feature marks the screenwriter/director’s first foray into filming in the UK, where his chosen locations will include York and Edinburgh. The Italian locations include Bolzano (also known as Bozen) and Orta San Giulio.
The Correspondence, which is about a love affair between a young woman and a professor, is the second of Tornatore’s three film deal with production company Paco Cinematografica in Rome; the shingle’s Arturo Paglia and Isabella Cocuzzo produce.
Multi award-winning composer Ennio Morricone, with whom the director has worked regularly since their first collaboration on Cinema Paradiso, is also on board.
At the time of going to press, lead casting was about to be announced with cameras expected to roll from May.
