The major new international co-production of War and Peace is set to shoot in Lithuania and St Petersburg from early next year.
Recent press reports have suggested that Lily James and Paul Dano are both up for starring roles in this latest TV adaptation of Leo Tolstoy’s epic novel.
The 6 x 60 dramatisation is from seasoned TV scribe Andrew Davies (A Poet in New York; The Three Musketeers; Bridget Jones: Edge of Reason etc) and is a co-production between BBC Cymru Wales, The Weinstein Company and Lookout Point.
Tolstoy’s weighty tome follows the lives of five aristocratic families living in Tsarist Russia and how the events leading up to Napoleon’s invasion in 1812 changed their lives forever.
