Louisiana’s growing reputation as a thriving film production hub is set to continue as yet another major feature film heads to shoot in New Orleans.

Will Ferrell

Mark Wahlberg and Will Ferrell star in Daddy’s Home, a comedy from directing duo Sean Anders and John Morris (Horrible Bosses 2; We’re the Millers).

Ferrell also produces alongside Joseph Drake, Nathan Kahane and Adam McKay; Gary Sanchez Productions is the shingle behind the film.

Daddy’s Girl is the latest in a hefty raft of titles choosing Louisiana – recently on KFTV we detailed the Sylvester Stallone/Gerard Butler blockbuster for Warner Bros., Geostorm. And Tom Hiddleston is already in the Pelican State playing legendary country singer Hank Williams in I Saw the Light, a biopic from super producer Brett Ratner.

There is plenty lining up to shoot in Louisiana too - taking advantage of the favourable tax breaks of up to 30%. The Cicely Tyson-starrer Showing Roots is currently in pre-production as is NBC Universal’s major new pilot, The Magicians, adapted from Lev Grossman’s best-selling fantasy series.
