Entrepreneur Olivier Marchetti has transformed a former warehouse comprising a 280,000 sq ft area with 32,000 sq ft of office space and 54 acres of backlot, into the newly-named Provence Studios.
The studio is in the region of Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur which is one of the most sought-after locations for filming in France, with iconic backdrops such as the French Riviera, Cannes and the French Alps. The area is certainly popular among filmmakers: it has been used for roughly 20% of all French productions. Recent films to be shot there include Woody Allen’s Magic in the Moonlight and European TV series Crossing Lines.
The studio has been the host to the 3rd season of the Luc Besson-led series No Limits since March. According to the developers, the project’s total investment is estimated to be around €10m.
The new facility joins existing studios in the area, Belle de Mai media park and Nice-based Studios Riviera.
