India needs to set up film commissions in order to attract foreign film crews, a new report by the LA India Film Council says.

India needs to set up film commissions in order to attract foreign film crews, a new report by the LA India Film Council says.
The organisation has proposed to set up the film commissions in India and take responsibility of an operational framework at a national and state level.
In its latest report titled ‘Unleashing the power of film tourism: the first step’, the LA India Film Council has highlighted India’s potential to become a preferred film shooting destination. In order to reach this point the country needs film commissions to serve as a local government liaison, attract foreign productions, work with local and foreign shingles and production service companies , and create a sustainable system that ultimately benefits the wider Indian economy.
The LA India Film Council says it believes that if the right steps are taken India would also be able to attract a lot more tourism as its destinations are seen on the big and small screen.
