A pair of striking ads for German VOD service Maxdome
E + P Films Gmbh - a production company from Germany - and Münchhausen - a production service outfit in Estonia - have colluded to produce two cinematic TVCs for German VOD platform Maxdome.

E + P Films Gmbh - a production company from Germany - and Münchhausen - a production service outfit in Estonia - have colluded to produce two cinematic TVCs for German VOD platform Maxdome.
The action-packed commercials are nothing short of spectacular, featuring: aliens, robots, the military, gun-wielding grandmas and a little romance thrown in for good measure.
The two spots seemingly try to convey a sense of reality with regards to the content on Maxdome, as both ads end with the key characters sitting at home watching television after being engulfed in the theatrics.
The scenes that stand out the most are those set in the harbour scene and the church. Speaking on the preparation for the two sequences Nikolai Mihailišin, a producer at Münchhausen said: “We needed to shoot [the harbour spot] in one night and this was the biggest limitation for the whole production, as we only had 11 hours of darkness.
“Boats, tanks, other vehicles and military gear were gathered together in 10 days - this was the whole pre-production period for both commercials. Estonian military forces and law-enforcement agencies were also helpful getting the equipment for us.”
