KFTV is now part of Media Business Insight

Publisher Media Business Insight (MBI) has obtained The Knowledge, KFTV and Production Intelligence from Wilmington PLC.

KFTV, which has been in production for over 50 years, started off as a Services Handbook and subsequently evolved into a comprehensive online directory and news site for the international community. Its sister site - and also a print directory - The Knowledge, began life 30 years ago and yields the same purpose, but specifically for the UK production community.

The last brand going to MBI is Production Intelligence, the subscription service at The Knowledge which features information on over 6,000 UK film and TV productions, the companies making them, key HoD’s, shoot dates and more.

Alexandra Zeevalkink, publishing manager for KFTV, The Knowledge and Production Intelligence, said on the move: “Becoming part of a portfolio dedicated to media is an exciting step for us. As a team we’re very much looking forward to the possibilities this move can offer all our brands in the future.”

The three products have a total of over 35,000 companies and 90,000 individuals working throughout the media industry listed. The nine staff associated to the three brands will move to MBI’s offices as part of the deal.

Conor Dignam, chief executive at MBI, said on the acquisition: “With the addition of these brands we are building on MBI’s position of providing essential information for anyone who works in or follows what is happening in the global media sector. We see strong synergies with our current brands and this acquisition puts us in a unique position in terms of the data and information we provide to key parts of the global creative economy.”
